Choosing the stone

Which Vanity Top Material Fits Which Bathroom

Bathrooms are kinder to stone than kitchens: little heat, few acids. The question is who uses the room and how much cleaning they will do.

Vanity top materials matched to bathroom type

Measure Your Vanity in Three Numbers

These three measurements are enough for a first quote. We confirm everything on template day.

Width

Cabinet width plus the overhang on open sides. Common sizes run from 24 to 72 inches.

Depth

Cabinet depth plus about an inch in front. Many vanities are about 21 or 22 inches deep with the top.

Sinks and Faucets

How many sinks, their model, and whether each faucet uses 1 or 3 holes.

Cornerstone Countertops & Cabinetry fabricates vanity tops in granite, marble and quartz, an engineered stone that never needs sealing. Every top carries our 1-year warranty on fabrication and installation, and quartz adds a limited 15-year warranty. Homeowners rate us 4.9 on Google, and we won Gold in Charlotte's Best 2024 and 2025.

Save on small tops

Lower the Price With a Remnant

A single vanity uses very little stone. Instead of buying a full slab, you can choose a piece left over from a larger job, the same stone at a smaller size.

Send your measurements and we check our remnant selection for pieces that fit. Remnants work best for one top; two matching bathrooms usually need a full slab.

FAQ

Vanity Top Questions

Quick answers before you replace a bathroom top.

Can you replace just the vanity top and keep the cabinet?

Yes, if the cabinet is solid and level. We template on the existing cabinet and cut the new top to fit.

What is the best stone for a bathroom vanity?

Quartz and granite are the easiest to care for. Marble and quartzite suit primary baths where the look comes first.

Do you cut the sink and faucet holes?

Yes. Sink openings and 1 or 3 faucet holes are cut in our shop and included in the price.

Do you connect the faucet and drain?

No. We don't do plumbing. Your plumber disconnects before removal and reconnects after installation.

Can I use a remnant for my vanity?

Often, for single vanities. Send your sizes and we check which remnants fit.

How long does a vanity top replacement take?

Your quote is ready within 2 business days, and installation is 7 business days after templating.
