What buyers ask before choosing a rare stone.

What counts as an exotic stone countertop?

Rare or unusual surfaces beyond everyday granite and quartz. In our yard, that means soapstone, crystal and semi-precious agate.

How much do agate countertops cost?

Agate is in our Semi-Precious tier, priced on request for each slab. Small pieces such as vanities and bars keep the total lower.

Does soapstone stain or etch?

It doesn't etch from acids, and oils darken it evenly over time. It does scratch, but light scratches can be sanded out.

Can agate be used in a kitchen?

On an island or bar, yes, with trivets and cutting boards. We don't suggest it around the cooktop.

Can exotic stone go around a fireplace?

Yes. Soapstone and crystal make striking surrounds. Always follow the clearances in your fireplace manual.

Do you fabricate exotic stone yourselves?

Yes. Every exotic slab is cut on our CNC in Charlotte and installed by our own crew.
