Measure first

How to Measure Your Countertop Square Footage

Price is per square foot, so the first number to know is your own square footage. These three examples show how to measure; your quote turns it into an exact price.

The Formula: Length × Depth ÷ 144

Measure each run in inches, multiply length by depth, and divide by 144. Add the pieces together, and round up a little for overhangs.

A Wall Run

A 10-foot run at a typical 25.5-inch depth: 120 × 25.5 ÷ 144 = about 21.25 sq ft.

An Island

An 8 by 4-foot island top: 96 × 48 ÷ 144 = 32 sq ft, including the seating overhang.

A Full Backsplash

Stone up the wall is measured the same way and added to the total square footage.

FAQ

Countertop Price Questions

The questions Charlotte homeowners ask most before they request a quote.

How much do granite countertops cost in Charlotte?

At Cornerstone, Classic Granite starts at $29.95 per square foot installed. Your quote names the exact slab and its price.

Is the price per square foot installed?

Yes. It includes the slab, templating, cutting, a flat polished edge, installation and kitchen sink installation.

How much do quartz countertops cost?

Quartz, an engineered stone, is priced by the tier of the slab you choose, like quartzite, marble and every other stone in our yard. Your quote names the slab and its price.

Is removing my old countertop included?

No. Tear-out and disposal are quoted as a separate line, so you can see the cost and compare it.

Do edge profiles cost extra?

The flat polished edge is included. Half bullnose, full bullnose, 1/4 bevel, 1/2 bevel, chiseled and ogee are priced as extras.

How much is the deposit?

50% when you approve the quote, and the other 50% when installation is complete.

Why is one quote much cheaper than another?

Usually because it leaves something out, such as the sink cutout, the edge polish or tear-out. Compare the lines, not only the total.

How fast do I get my price?

Your written quote is ready within 2 business days, and installation is 7 business days after templating.
