The 15-Minute Water Test: Does Your Granite Need Sealing?
Sealing is a quick routine job, and this test tells you when it is due. Do it once a year, or whenever you notice water spots that linger.
1. Pour
Pour a small puddle of water, about the size of a coin, near the sink and the stove.
2. Wait 15 Minutes
Leave it alone. Then wipe it dry and look at the stone under good light.
3. Read the Result
A dark ring means the stone absorbed water and is ready for sealer. No ring means you're fine.
