We install stone shower walls in Charlotte, NC as large slab panels in natural stone or quartz, and as tile walls when you want a pattern, niches or a bench. Slab panels cover each wall with one or two pieces, so there are far fewer grout lines to clean and seal. We fabricate and install the walls; plumbing, including the valve and fixtures, is handled by your plumber.

Slab Panels or Tile: Choosing Your Shower Walls

Slab panels win on cleaning and a continuous look; tile wins on flexibility for niches, benches and patterns. Most of the decision comes down to how you want to clean.

What Has to Happen Before We Install Shower Walls

Shower walls are the last layer of a system. These steps come first, by your plumber or contractor.

Valve and Pipes Set

Your plumber installs the valve, shower head arm and any body sprays at their final positions.

Waterproofing

The walls behind the stone must be waterproofed. We don't do waterproofing, so your contractor prepares and waterproofs the walls before we install.

Flat, Plumb Walls

Large panels need flat walls. We check them on template day.

Cornerstone Countertops & Cabinetry installs shower walls in natural stone or quartz slab panels, quartz being an engineered stone, as well as in tile. Our written estimate is ready within 2 business days, and every shower wall carries our 1-year warranty on fabrication and installation. We don't do plumbing, waterproofing or glass. We won Gold for Best Countertop Store in Charlotte's Best 2024 and 2025. Our yard at 7517 Orr Rd has slab panels and tile samples to compare side by side.

Clear scope

What We Do in Your Shower, and What Your Plumber Does

We template the walls, cut the panels or prepare the tile layout, and install the shower walls, including cutouts for the valve and shower head.

We don't do any plumbing. Your plumber sets the valve before we start and installs the trim and shower head after. We don't install glass doors or enclosures; a glass company handles them after the walls are in.

FAQ

Shower Wall Questions

Short answers about slab panels, tile and who does what.

Are slab shower walls better than tile?

They are easier to clean because they have very few grout lines. Tile is easier for niches, benches and patterns.

Do you install tile shower walls?

Yes. We install both slab panels and tile shower walls.

Do you install the shower valve or fixtures?

No. We don't do plumbing. Your plumber sets the valve before we install and the trim after.

Can I use the same stone as my vanity?

Yes, if the slab yields enough for both. We check when you choose your stone.

Can a slab shower have a niche?

Yes, with planning. The niche is framed before the walls go up, and we cut the panels around it.
